Throughout her short life at one point or another she has entertained and dwelt with malice. She has lied, cheated, taken what was not hers. She has schemed, committed adulterous acts and even by choice ended life. The very attempts to end her own marked yet another failure in her vain existence. She is no stranger to sin and it's consequence. A temporary band aid to the gaping wounds inside of her heart, they have never healed her but instead compounded her brokenness.
Still daily she struggles with pride. The desire for justification and remorse when hurt, mistreated and rejected. Anger quickly begins to rise. Quickly finding a place to retreat she surrenders it all at the cross. Surrenders her hurt, her sorrow but most of all her pride. Reminded of what He bore and endured. He was good the only good this world has seen. Being found to have no fault in Him, He was cursed, tortured and crucified. He was and continues to be rejected by so many.
His Love defeated death.
And so she believes that this Love that saved her, that saw through her pain right into her heart is mighty to save. Love that saw and sees the ugly and unfit inside of her, yet calls her beautiful. Love so mighty to save all whom are broken, lost, hurt and dying. She confesses it all unto her Savior and in Him finds healing and peace. Her ways bring forth death, His ways bring forth life. Lord, You are faithful.
